BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT
Please come to Lamar for Back To School Night on Tuesday, September 8th from 6:30-8:00 pm. You will visit the classes according to your student’s schedule. Please bring a copy of your student’s schedule. It will save you time! If needed, student schedules will be available in the cafeteria along the wall of windows. See attached flyer for details.
GIFTED AND TALENTED NOMINATIONS
Attention Lamar parents – Lamar is pleased to be accepting Gifted and Talented parent nominations for the 2015-16 school year. All grade levels are open for nomination. Current GT students may be nominated to participate in the GT screening process for consideration in a content area for which they are not currently receiving GT services. Please see the Gifted and Talented Parent Nomination Form included in the WAAG, or request a hard copy at the front office.
Please return all Gifted and Talented Parent Nomination Forms to the front office by September 25th.
For questions and information, please email Louisa Torrance, GT advocate.
Save the date for LamarFest! November 13th 6-9pm. This is our only PTA fundraiser this year. Email Julie Jones if you are interested in volunteering. The first LamarFest planning meeting will be on September the 16th, 6:30 pm at Azul Tequila, a previous LamarFest sponsor. Please email Julie if you can make the meeting.
Picture days are coming. On October 8th and 9th, pictures will be taken in your student’s Social Studies class. Smile pretty!
